Anthropologie: Charlottesville, VA
This project was completed while Principal, Maegan Walton, was a lead designer and project manager at Elmslie Osler Architect. Walton contributed to the schematic design phase of this project, as well as many other Anthropologie stores while working at EOA.
The main design problem of this project was to create a connection between the disparate store facades of two separate retail spaces. There was a need to make the exterior faces and interior spaces feel cohesive. On the exterior, a screen of cement board panels of slightly different tones encased the two store facades to make them relate more to each other and create visual tension. On the interior a modern portico connected the two volumes to provide a sequence to inform the larger spaces.
